5 minutes | fluency

If you have been hanging around here for any time at all, you know that I rarely have an original idea. Nope. Just call me copycat extraordinaire. And one of my favorite photography collaborations on the world wide web is the 5 Minute Project. “The spirit of this project is keep it unplanned, unstaged, just 5 ordinary minutes.” In order to challenge myself to keep picking up my “big girl camera” and to continue honing my storytelling skills, I plan to post a little 5 minute story here each week. I call this one “fluency.” Big sister has fluency homework each evening which consists of us timing her for one minute while she reads through the assigned dolch list of words for the week. Each evening when we sit down to complete this assignment, little sister asks to do her “fluency.” So when Miss Vanessa sent home a little packet of activities for her to work on for preschool (putting the letters of her name in order, cutting paper and manipulating playdoh), she was over the moon excited to finally have her own fluency homework…
